2021 Inspirational Graduate Student Award

Katie Webber
Katie Webber

Katie Webber (recipient)

Nominated by Nancy Moules

"Katie is a creative, generative, and scholarly writer and deep thinker. She has a strong work ethic and is driven by her desire for excellence. She is outstanding in the sophistication of her work. I see this student as one of the strongest I have supervised in my over 20 years on faculty. Her graduate teaching and research assistant work she has done for Dr. Shane Sinclair is highly commended and her work ethic and value on excellence remains consistent across all aspects her professional life. While the work of paediatric oncology can be extremely rewarding, it can also be quite emotionally intense. Katie actively seeks out opportunities to talk with fellow students and other nurses about the importance of caring well for oneself, so that one may also care well for others."
