The Bookstore gets a makeover
Riley Brandt, University of Calgary
After two months of refreshing its look and feel, the Bookstore at the University of Calgary is getting ready for an unveiling.
The renovation is part of the Bookstore’s overall revitalization plan. The redesign will allow for a more functional and flexible area that can accommodate new offerings such as pop-in stores during slower periods, and expand at busier times of the year allowing customers and employees to move freely from one end to the other.
“This is an exciting time for the Bookstore and our customers,” says John Campbell, associate director of the bookstore. “It will bring new energy and life to the space, which hasn’t had a facelift for over 18 years.
“This renovation has been a work in progress and we want the transition to the new and refreshed layout to be low-impact for our customers.”
The Bookstore will close on Saturday, Aug. 4 for reconfiguration and setup, and will reopen on Monday, Aug. 13 for business as usual.
Customers shopping in the newly renovated Bookstore will enjoy a bright, modern and open retail environment, making it easier to locate exactly what you are looking for while receiving the same high-quality level of service and knowledge from experienced staff members.
“We invite you to come in to the Bookstore and check out the new look once it reopens on Monday, Aug. 13,” says Campbell.
