Peer Support at the Women's Resource Centre
Are you feeling stressed or overwhelmed while navigating your academic journey at the University of Calgary? You're not alone. University life can be challenging and it's important to know that there are resources available to support you. Drop in at the Women's Resource Centre (WRC) to connect with a trained peer listener to talk about any issue you may be dealing with.
At the Women's Resource Centre, we believe in the power of community to uplift and support women. Whether you're looking for a listening ear or practical advice, peer support provides a safe and welcoming space for students to connect with each other, share their stories, and offer support and advice.
Here are just a few benefits of accessing peer support:
1. Connect with someone who understands: At the WRC, peer support is provided by students who understand the unique challenges women and the LGBTQ+ community face. They can provide a listening ear and offer practical advice on how to navigate different situations.
2. Confidentiality: Peer Support provides a confidential space to talk about anything that may be on your mind. You can speak freely and know that your privacy will be respected.
3. Non-judgmental support: The Peer Support team is made up of trained volunteers who are there to provide support and guidance without judgment. They will help you explore your options and come up with a plan that works for you.
4. Convenient and accessible: Peer Support is available in person, over the phone, or online, making it a convenient and accessible resource for all UCalgary students.
Don't hesitate to reach out and take advantage of this valuable resource. Remember, you're not alone.
Peer Support is available in-person (MSC 482) from Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or virtually by emailing women@ucalgary.ca.
