Professor Maria Bakardjieva has been appointed the Chair in Communication and Media Studies
Dr. Maria Bakardjieva has been appointed to a five-year term as the Chair in Communication and Media Studies, effective July 1, 2019
This is a newly-restructured and re-named endowed chair which was formerly known as the Ernest C. Manning Chair in Canadian Studies in the former Faculty of Communication and Culture. As holder of this research chair, Dr. Bakardjieva will engage in scholarship, knowledge translation and community outreach intended to advance understanding and engagement in issues related to Communication and Media studies. In addition, the chairholder will have a specific mandate to promote undergraduate research activities in Communication and Media Studies.
