Professor Speaks on Residential Schools Class Action

Professor Kathleen Mahoney is speaking today at Queen's University at a panel on "Insights into the Residential Schools Class Action and the Truth and Reconciliation Process."

Professor Kathleen Mahoney is speaking today at Queen's University at a panel on "Insights into the Residential Schools Class Action and the Truth and Reconciliation Process." Professor Mahoney was the Chief Negotiator for the Assembly of First Nations and primary architect of the Truth & Reconciliation Commission in the historic Indian Residential School Settlement Agreement, the largest agreement of its kind in Canadian history. Also speaking at this Event are Phil Fontaine, the National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations (2003-2009) and John Kingman Phillips, a Representative of the Assembly of First Nations (Residential Schools Class Actions).  

In addition, Professor Mahoney and Phil Fontaine gave a guest lecture on the topic of, "Doing Law Differently: Benefits Indigenous Legal Traditions Bring to the Resolution of Disputes."
