Job Description: Calgary Institute for the Humanities invites applications for a Research Assistant. This position is an hourly position, approximately 20 hours total, from July to February (based on length of grant funding) with the possibility of more hours if budget is available.
 
This position reports to the Institute but will be working with the Performance and Business Research Interdisciplinary Working Group, in connection with a series of seminars and workshops.  The seminars will include researchers from both business and performance disciplines, discussing ways to apply insights of performance theory to business organizations and practices. The workshops will focus on analyzing the use of pitch performances in business settings. Every meeting will have a Zoom element and some meetings will be hybrid Zoom/in person.

Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):
Assist in organizing and hosting the seminars and workshops, as needed
Prepare materials for seminars and workshops, including key readings and/or videos, under the guidance of the Performance and Business RWG leadership
Write short research literature reviews, around specific themes
Help build a website for the working group

Job Requirements: Qualifications / Requirements
Graduate student preferred (Master or Ph.D. levels)
Interest in performance and/or performance theory
A combination of education, training and experience may be considered
Ability to provide support to other members of the team and related units or teams
Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint) and Google tools (Drive, docs, sheets, etc.) is required
Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and oral), and organizational skills
Open to learning and development, and willing to accept new challenges and assignments

Salary: $20/hour
